Fox29's Bill Anderson was on site while our Middle School students concentrated on giving back this Halloween by packing more than 20,000 food parcels for the international non-profit, Rise Against Hunger. Check out his video above to hear from our students about the experience.
Students in grade six through eight stood in the gymnasium in assembly lines, filling plastic bags with rice, soy, and dehydrated vegetables. They also sealed the bags, and packed them in boxes to be shipped overseas to the world’s most vulnerable populations.
The food was purchased using money the entire school raised during an annual Walkathon in September. Food packages from last year’s efforts were distributed in Zambia and South Africa.
