Mercy Supports the AAPI Community

Last week a tragic hate crime targeting the Asian and Asian American communities shook our nation. As a Catholic community rooted in the gospel values of mercy and justice, we join the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in denouncing last week’s attack in Georgia. We ask you to join us in praying for each person impacted by these killings and the recent victims of violence in Colorado.

We stand in solidarity with the broader Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. We recognize the xenophobic and racist hate targeting the AAPI community is at an all time high. We are committed to continuing our teachings of the Critical Concerns of Anti-Racism and Violence in the hopes that one day, emails like this will not be necessary. We strive for Waldron Mercy to play an active role in building an equitable and intersectional anti-racist community and encourage our families to do the same. The Sisters of Mercy offer wonderful resources on their website to see how you can join our Mercy efforts to build a better, more inclusive world for our children, and their children.
