Waldron Mercy was recently blessed to welcome back alumna Natalie Ferdinand '20, who returned to speak about her experience at Community Gathering! Natalie shared beautiful stories about how WMA shaped her into the person she is today — stating that "over the years, many things have changed, but one thing has remained constant; the strength of this community." She went on to say that "Waldron Mercy inspires students to work hard, build discipline, challenge themselves, and grow in openness, trust, and outreach."

She also shared her experience with our 8th grade Math Teacher, Ms. Irene Pawlish. Natalie explained that Ms. Pawlish showed her that "strength and kindness can exist together" and that "the discipline, work ethic, and confidence she {Ms. Pawlish} built in me have stayed with me through high school and college. She prepared me not only for tests, but for life."

After she spoke, Natalie had the chance to reconnect with the "Little Buddy" that she was partnered with as an 8th grader - Mimi L.! The two instantly recognized each other and shared a special moment remembering how much fun they'd had when Natalie was in her final year at WMA and Mimi was in Kindergarten.

We are so grateful that Natalie visited Waldron Mercy to reminisce about her experience and we loved hearing all about the accomplishments and adventures she's had since leaving these hallways. WMA Alums — You're always a part of the WMA Family!
