Child Care Teacher

Waldron Mercy Child Care, a NAEYC accredited and Keystone 4 Stars facility located in Merion Station, is looking for a full-time teacher for our one year old classroom. Responsibilities include all aspects of creating a nurturing environment to meet the social, emotional and cognitive needs of each child in the classroom. Must be patient, understanding and able to work well with others.

Duties include:

  • Planning, preparation and implementation of daily lessons and activities, including playground activities
  • Observing and evaluating students' progress
  • Arranging classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy
  • Maintaining open communication with parents, teachers and other child care workers, ensuring confidentiality

Qualified applicants should have a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Mercy After Care (MAC) Aide

Mercy After Care is our extended day care service for Waldron Mercy Academy students in kindergarten and grades one to eight. This program includes recreational activities, enrichment experiences, scheduled homework periods and snacks. We are looking to build a staff for the 2017-2018 school year, that will work together to provide individual attention, security and consistency of program in an atmosphere of respect and fun. Beginning on the first day of school, Mercy After Care is open on faculty in-service and parent/teacher conference days, as well as most religious/holy days and other school holidays, until 6:00 p.m.

Afternoon Aide

Waldron Mercy Academy seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Afternoon Teacher Aide for our Waldron Mercy Child Care. This position is responsible for assisting the teachers in the classroom and/or the play yard.

Substitute Teachers

If you currently have your Pennsylvania certification (early childhood, elementary education or secondary education) and would be interested in substituting at WMA on a per diem basis, please contact Theresa Gannon, middle school director.

3) All candidates are required to provide Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal History background clearances which are no more than one year old. When an interview is scheduled, candidates will be informed to obtain and show these items.
