Toshiba/ExploraVisionUnderwritten by Toshiba and administered by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), Toshiba ExploraVision is the world’s largest K –12 science and technology competition, challenging students to work in teams and design innovative technologies that could exist in 20 years.Waldron Mercy Academy offers the opportunity for all students in kindergarten to grade eight to participate in the annual Toshiba/ExploraVision competition. This competition is an independent, extra-curricular activity that goes well beyond the typical science fair experience. Students of all age groups and abilities are challenged to design a technology of the future which is presented in a research paper format with complementary web page graphics.

Please review all contest criteria on the ExploraVision website. Answers to frequently asked questions, past winners, student resources and brainstorming strategies are all available on this site! If interested, students should form a team of two to four participants. NO exceptions! You must have at least two students, but no more than four to form a team. Possible topics MUST be approved by Mrs. Meyer before beginning research.
Interested students should begin NOW to brainstorm ideas to develop a topic of interest for the 2016-2017 competition.

To keep on track with this process, it is expected that teams will meet periodically with Mrs. Meyer and Ms. Mulroy by appointment, and with parental consent, either during the school day or after school. Mrs. Meyer will also communicate with parents via email with updates. All research must be conducted and edited for content and format by January 9, 2017. Works cited and photo credits must be documented.
