Mercy Day 2023

Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. opened the doors of the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland on September 24, 1827. Every year, Mercy communities around the world commemorate this occasion on Mercy Day.

When we celebrate Mercy Day, students traditionally have participated in a Walk Against Hunger. Funds raised purchase ingredients for meals that are assembled and packed in our gym. This year, we are collaborating with a local organization in Broomall called Kids Against Hunger. Meals will be packed on Halloween by Grades 1-8 and provided to families in our area. (When coordinating in the past with a different organization (Rise Against Hunger), only Grades 6-8 prepared and packed meals that were delivered to other countries.) So this year, younger students will have a more active role!!

Please bring your contribution to school (cash/check) or click here to donate online by Friday, September 29th.
