After care options
WMA provides two after care programs - Play and Discover for half-day Montessori and pre-k, and Mercy After Care (MAC) for students in kindergarten and grades one to eight. To register for either Play and Discover or MAC, please complete the registration form.
Play and Discover
If your child attends Waldron Mercy Academy’s pre-kindergarten or half-day Montessori, this after care program is specially designed for him or her.
Beginning on your child’s first day of school in September, he or she has a chance to play with his or her classmates in a safe and caring environment after his or her classes end. At 11:15 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., teachers escort students to the school’s After Care Room. The children eat lunch with their friends and then have the chance to play games, read books, do crafts and art projects, rest or relax, and play outside on one of our wonderful playgrounds. Lunch and snacks are also part of the day.
This preschool after care program is available only during the school year. Hours of operation are 11:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for half-day Montessori students, and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. for pre-k students. Parents can use as many or as few hours as needed within this timeframe. The hourly rate for the academic year is $8. A late fee of $1 per minute will be charged if the pick-up is later than 6:00 p.m. The maximum monthly fee for Play and Discover (half-day Montessori) is $700. Juice and snacks are provided each day.
On certain holidays, arrangements may be made in advance for all-day care for students registered in this program. During the summer, your child has the option to attend enrichment and Triple A Camp on the school grounds, if space is available.
