High School: Friends’ Central SchoolFavorite Subject: MathWaldron has prepared me: to excel in future endeavors I embark on.Hardest and most rewarding assignment: Academic Achievement Award
Brandon joined us at WMA in 1st grade, but it’s hard to picture this tall, young man that little these days. Brandon was on WMA’s varsity basketball team this year. Basketball wasn’t the only thing keeping Brandon busy during his tenure at WMA; he also participated in the Toshiba ExploraVision Competition, National Geography Bee, tutoring, piano lessons, and served alongside friends at a number of our outreach partners.
Brandon identified Mrs. Romano, director of the lower school, as his standout teacher. “She has truly shaped the person you see here today.” When we shared this with her, Mrs. Romano offered these words, “The Academic Achievement Award may have been hardest and most rewarding achievement for Brandon, but it certainly wasn’t the most surprising to me. I have always been impressed by Brandon’s fierce desire to do well and to excel in every area of his life. I am so excited to watch him grow and become a true example of hard work and determination.
Brandon was awarded scholarships at two schools before selected Friends’ Central for next year. He also received recognition at graduation this year including awards of excellence in the study of advancement mathematics and writing and honorable mentions for the study of science, Spanish, history. He also received an award for outstanding achievement for “As” in all major subjects this year.
Congratulations, Brandon! Make sure to come back to see us—we look forward to hearing about your continued success in high school!
