Service Learning

Summer Service at MannaWaldron Mercy Academy is unwaveringly committed to fulfilling its charge of service, mercy and faith. This commitment extends beyond service projects. It is integrated into everything we do and partnerships are created that last for years.

It is a delicate but important balance for students to realize that service is not just something we do, it’s something we share. It's a true partnership. As the students mature, these experiences can challenge them and foster growth. Students come away with an understanding that service goes beyond doing. They expand to being deeply involved and are driven to embody mercy.

Waldron Mercy students use their academic skills to think about ways to help. When they grow up, their continued service may involve working at a soup kitchen, but it might also include improving the education system or working to provide better healthcare.

When we expose our students to a variety of outreach opportunities, we are inviting them to make connections between what they learn in the classroom and how they live their lives in the service to others.

Program of Distinction

In May 2017, Waldron Mercy Academy achieved a Program of Distinction from the Middle States Association for our stellar Service Learning curriculum. Waldron Mercy is the first and, to date, only school to have this honor bestowed. Read more about our exciting achievement!
