Mercy After Care

Welcome to Mercy After Care, our extended day care service for Waldron Mercy students. This program includes recreational activities, enrichment experiences, scheduled homework periods and snacks for children in Montessori and pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The staff consists of professionals, both teachers and teacher aides, who work together to provide individual attention, security and consistency of program in an atmosphere of respect and fun.

We also have an after care program specially designed for pre-k and preschool Montessori students known as Play and Discover. Children have the chance to play with their classmates in a safe and caring environment after their half day Montessori classes end. At 11:15 a.m. a teacher escorts the children to the school's after care room directly across the hall from their Montessori classroom. The children eat lunch with their friends and then have the chance to play games, read books, do crafts and art projects, rest or relax, and play outside on one of our wonderful playgrounds. For more information, call the program's director Sister Marita Carmel Rondinelli, RSM, at
610-664-9847,
ext. 147.

Beginning on the first day of school, Mercy After Care is open on faculty in-service and parent/teacher conference days, as well as most religious/holy days and other school holidays, until 6:00 p.m.

The $25 registration fee is applied to your September balance. Please make checks payable to Waldron Mercy Academy and return it and the completed registration form in an envelope marked Mercy After Care Registration. The hourly rate for the 2007-2008 academic year is $6.50. A late fee of $1 per minute will be charged if the pick-up is later than 6 p.m.  The maximum monthly fee for Play and Discover (half-day Montessori and pre-kindergarten) is $650. If you have further questions about Mercy After Care, please contact Anne Wellman, director, at 610-664-9847,
