Peter Bellwoar and Dr. Colette Bellwoar, Peter, Grade Seven, Gregory, Grade Six
We have two sons who have been attending Waldron Mercy Academy for the last five years. We moved our children from another private school to WMA primarily for the diversification it offers, as well as the strong academic commitment to the students. We firmly believe it has been the best move for our children as well as our family.
WMA offers each student a strong, dedicated faculty, as well as numerous opportunities to explore different interests to really learn to know who they are. The school has an outstanding theater and music department as well as a competitive athletic program. We love how the school helps each child grow as individuals, as well as being a part of the student body. It provides opportunities for the children and parents to give back with their outreach and ministry programs, which are ways in which families work together to help others.
There are many different ways in which both students and parents can be involved at Waldron; for example, parents can be involved in the Parent-Teacher Cooperative (PTC) and work with the faculty to implement changes at the school. Students have opportunities every day to impact the lives of others through the Big Buddies, where the upperclassmen befriend younger students and do things together throughout the school year. Waldron Mercy provides convenient times for meetings, conferences, and other festivities so that working parents can participate as much as non-working parents.
The WMA community works hard to make this fabulous education affordable for each family and they factor in numerous variables prior to making tuition adjustments. Our children are thriving at WMA, and we are confident they will be successful in the future because of the education they are receiving today. Our sons are confident, happy, and well-rounded young men who have made life-long friendships and who will use the knowledge they are learning today to make the world better in the future.
