Current Parent Volunteer Opportunities

Committee Volunteers
If you are interested in any of the PTC committees, please contact the committee chair or one of the PTC officers. Whether you can give an hour a week, an hour a day, or even an hour a year, the PTC looks forward and welcomes any involvement and time that you can give.

Home Game Snack Sales Volunteers
Help make guests at our games feel comfortable and welcome. The Athletic Committee supplies water and snacks, but relies on parents or older students attending the game to sell them. If you can help out at a game, please contact Mike Delaney.

Special Event Volunteers
Getting involved with our special events, like the WMA Golf and Tennis Classic in the fall and our Tigerfest Auction in the spring is a great way to get to know fellow parents, faculty, staff and administrators. If you are interested, please contact Alison Nolan, special event coordinator, at 610-664-9847, ext. 127.

If you would like to be more involved at WMA, meet fellow parents and have fun, this is your opportunity!  Please indicate where you would like to volunteer and feel free to sign up for as many activities as possible. Click on the icon above to indicate your preferences. Any questions please e-mail or call Dorren Callahan or Sheila Lynch.
Grade Coordinators

  239_grade_coordinator.pdf (48)

Each grade will have one coordinator who will work with the teachers to organize the events and activities for the grade. These coordinators will reach out to all the parents in the grade who are interested in organizing and leading an event or activity. There will be no official homeroom parent, but rather many parents willing and able to help! Click on the icon above if you wish to be a grade coordinator. Please contact Jane Delaney if you have further questions.

Math Explorations Volunteers

  240_Math_Explorations_volunteers.pdf (34)

Would you like to be a part of our Everyday Math Program? We would like to invite the parents of first, second and third graders into our math classes to help with the students’ Math Explorations. These will be days when the students work in small groups and “explore” different math concepts with the use of manipulatives with parents as guides. We are hoping that with enough parent volunteers, each homeroom can have at least three parents to help students with their math investigations. The children are delighted to have parent “helpers,” and you will learn more about the math program. If you'd like to volunteer, click on the above icon for sign-up dates. Please contact Nell Stetser, curriculum director, if you have any questions, at 610-664-9847, ext. 137.
St. Columba Shelter Volunteers

  244_St__Columba_Volunteer_Sign-up__Fall_2009_.pdf (12)

Sponsored by the PTC Outreach Committee, you have the chance to make a difference in someone’s life by volunteering at St. Columba’s Shelter for men, located between 41st and 42nd Streets on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.  This volunteer opportunity will require only limited time – enough to make part of a meal and about an hour at the shelter.  The success of the program depends upon the commitment of each family.
Children and families prepare and serve a meal to the residents of the shelter starting at 6:45 p.m.  Each family is asked to bring enough of one food item to serve 15 to 20 men.  Food items include chicken or meatloaf, vegetables and dinner rolls, potatoes and beverages, and dessert.  You may sign up for as many or as few dates as your schedule permits.  A confirmation letter with full instructions and a volunteer schedule will be sent to you prior to your St. Columba’s visit.  If you have any questions, please contact Kris Derewicz.
